Single Tooth Implants – Hillsboro, OR

One Gap, One Implant, One Crown

Even losing a single tooth can have all kinds of negative effects on your oral health. Your remaining teeth will wear down more quickly thanks to the additional pressure, and over time they can drift out of place and cause severe alignment issues. As such, replacing a tooth means more than fixing your smile; it means making sure your mouth stays healthy and functioning. A single dental implant will fill a gap in your smile and let you eat and talk as you normally would; it’s also the only kind of restoration that replaces the entire tooth from the root up. Contact Infinity Dental care today to learn if this is the best restoration option for you.

Single Tooth Replacement Options

Dental Implant

The traditional way to replace one tooth is with a restoration called a fixed bridge. A bridge consists of a prosthetic tooth held between two crowns. The crowns are placed on teeth adjacent to the gap. This is a good way to complete your smile and hold your other teeth in place. That said, it does require us to remove a small amount of enamel, and it doesn’t replace the tooth’s roots.

In many cases, we’ll recommend filling the empty space with a dental implant. A small titanium post will be placed in your jaw so that it can support a crown. The surgery itself is minimally invasive, and the gums will heal quickly afterwards. You’ll need to wait three to four months for the implant to fuse with the jaw; after that, we can attach a crown that’ll look and function like your natural pearly whites.
