Even losing a single tooth can have all kinds of negative effects on your oral health. Your remaining teeth will wear down more quickly thanks to the additional pressure, and over time they can drift out of place and cause severe alignment issues. As such, replacing a tooth means more than fixing your smile; it means making sure your mouth stays healthy and functioning. In many cases, we’ll recommend filling the empty space with a dental implant. A small titanium post will be placed in your jaw so that it can support a crown. The surgery itself is minimally invasive, and the gums will heal quickly afterwards. You’ll need to wait three to four months for the implant to fuse with the jaw; after that, we can attach a crown that’ll look and function like your natural pearly whites.
